The Board of Directors of Designed For Joy is pleased to announce the appointment of Grace Morris as the Interim Executive Director, effective October 1st. Grace has been an integral part of our organization for the past three years, demonstrating exceptional dedication, leadership, and a deep commitment to our mission. She will work closely with Cary Heise throughout October to ensure a smooth transition.
During her tenure with Designed For Joy, Grace has played a pivotal role in various capacities, contributing significantly to our growth and success. Her extensive experience and understanding of our organization make her the ideal candidate to lead us through this transitional period. The Board of Directors has witnessed firsthand her extensive knowledge of the organization and her devotion to the women we serve.
Grace’s journey with us began as an intern, where her passion for empowering women and her innovative approach quickly stood out. She has since taken on increasing responsibilities, including overseeing key projects, managing corporate and community engagement, and leading many initiatives, including our largest fundraiser of the year, Evening of Giving. Her efforts have not only strengthened our programs but also expanded our impact within the Raleigh community.
The search for our next Executive Director has begun. The Board has approved a succession plan and formed a search committee to identify Cary’s replacement. This search will be thorough and thoughtful, with the goal of acting in a timely manner. The search committee is committed to finding a leader who can continue Cary’s legacy and guide us in our ongoing efforts to provide women in crisis with immediate employment and support.
As we navigate this transition, we are confident that Grace’s leadership will ensure continuity and stability. Her vision aligns with our goals, and we are excited to see how she will continue to drive our mission forward.
