Raleigh-Based Designed For Joy to Appear on HSN
Designed For Joy provides stability for women in crisis through immediate employment and support
RALEIGH, N.C., Oct, 18, 2023 — Designed For Joy’s products and mission will be featured on the national stage by appearing on HSN, a leader in multiplatform video commerce, this Thursday, October 19, 2023. “We are grateful to HSN for providing this generous opportunity to build more support and funding for women in crisis, while spotlighting the organization's important mission and beautiful products handcrafted by the Designed For Joy artisans,” says Cary Heise, executive director and co-founder of Designed For Joy. “With the holiday season ramping up, it's a perfect opportunity to buy responsibly made, luxury gifts for loved ones and support women with a second chance.”
Expanding Designed For Joy's Reach
Heise will be on set at the HSN studio in St. Petersburg, FL to sell products made by women in the organization’s three-month or day-work program. At 10 a.m. and 11 p.m EST, Heise will showcase Designed For Joy’s best-selling handbags and share more about the non-profit organization. "Being featured on such a popular network with a large audience helps us widen the reach of our mission. The initial order for our debut on HSN provides 1,200 living-wage hours for the women of Designed For Joy. That's a lot of living wage work for women in crisis," adds Heise.

Designed For Joy created several products featuring a new color line for the special HSN event. For the artisans, creating these products opens doors to a safer way of life. In its six-year history, Designed For Joy has hired 128 women through immediate employment and support. The women who create our brand with us are those living at high risk for sex and labor trafficking and/or food and housing insecurities. We partner with long-running ministries or local non-governmental organizations serving women that may be coming out of trafficking, emergency situations, generational poverty, homelessness, rehab, or prison.
